In terms of observational effectiveness,
binoculars of the same specifications perform much better than
monoculars. The images produced by binoculars are more three-dimensional, with higher resolution and brighter imaging, making the observation experience more comfortable. However, monoculars are significantly smaller and lighter than binoculars of the same specifications, with a volume and weight reduction of more than a half. Monoculars are also more easily capable of
high-magnification zoom, such as bird-watching monoculars,
spotting scope. Therefore, for handheld telescopes, if you want to achieve better observational results, binoculars are recommended. If you prefer a more compact size, a monocular is the better choice. If you can use a tripod and want to achieve high-magnification zoom effects, a monocular bird-watching scope is recommended.
